Meet Your Caregiver Before They Walk Through the Door

👥 Choose Your Caregiver · 🏠 Available in Houston & surrounding areas · 🔗careworks.biz

Most home care agencies decide who comes to your home. You get a name, a time, and a knock at the door. At CareWorks Houston, we do it differently — your family picks the caregiver. Always.

Our Choose Your Caregiver platform, available at careworks.biz, gives you real profiles, real backgrounds, and a real say in who spends time with your loved one. Because trust is not built in an agency office — it is built between people.

How It Works — Step by Step

Getting started is simple. From your first call to a caregiver in your home, most families are up and running within a few days.

1
Getting Started
Request a Free Assessment

Everything starts with a conversation — no pressure, no commitment. A CareWorks care coordinator will speak with you to understand your loved one’s needs, schedule, personality, and preferences. This is also where you tell us exactly what matters to you in a caregiver.

What to expect: A 20–30 minute call or in-home visit. We will ask about daily routines, medical needs, mobility, interests, and what past care experiences have looked like — good or bad.
2
Browse Profiles
Explore Matched Caregiver Profiles

Based on your assessment, we build a personalized shortlist of caregivers whose skills, availability, and personality fit your loved one’s needs. You browse their full profiles on the platform — no guesswork, no mystery.

Each profile includes: Photo, years of experience, specialties (dementia, mobility assistance, companionship, etc.), languages spoken, schedule availability, a personal bio written by the caregiver, and verified family reviews.

3
Meet First
Schedule a Meet-and-Greet

Found someone who looks like a good match? Great — but you do not have to commit yet. Request a no-obligation meet-and-greet so your family and your loved one can spend a little time with the caregiver before any care begins.

Why this matters: Chemistry is everything in caregiving. A caregiver might have a great résumé and still not be the right fit for your loved one’s personality. The meet-and-greet protects everyone — and it is completely free.
4
You Decide
Choose — or Keep Looking

After the meet-and-greet, the decision is entirely yours. If it feels right, say the word and we set up the schedule. If it does not, no problem — we go back to the shortlist and find another match. There is no pressure and no deadline.

Good to know: Most families find their match on the first or second try. If you want to meet more than one caregiver before deciding, we are happy to arrange that.
5
Care Begins
Build a Real Relationship

Once you have chosen, your caregiver starts on a schedule that works for your family. Because you picked them — not us — the relationship starts from a place of trust. And because the same person shows up every time, your loved one knows who is coming, which makes all the difference.

Ongoing support: Your care coordinator stays in the picture. We check in regularly, adjust the care plan as needs change, and are always available if something comes up. The platform also lets you message your caregiver, track visit times, and review care notes — all in one place.

The Advantages of Choosing Your Own Caregiver

This is not just a nice feature — it changes the entire experience of home care.

🤝
Real Trust from Day One
When you choose your caregiver, you have already decided to trust them. That head start makes the relationship warmer, more comfortable, and more effective — especially for loved ones with dementia or anxiety.
🔄
Consistency That Matters
The same face, the same routine, the same voice. For seniors — especially those with memory issues — familiarity is not a luxury, it is part of good care. Consistency reduces confusion and builds genuine comfort.
🎯
A Better Personality Match
Not every caregiver is right for every person. Choosing lets you match based on personality, communication style, shared language, and shared interests — things that make daily care feel less like a service and more like a friendship.
🧠
Right Skills for the Right Needs
You can filter and choose someone with specific experience in dementia care, Parkinson’s, post-surgery recovery, mobility assistance, or whatever your loved one needs — not just whoever happens to be available.
🕊️
Peace of Mind for Families
Knowing who is in your home — their background, their history, their reviews — removes the anxiety that so many families feel about home care. You are not handing over your loved one to a stranger.
📲
Full Visibility Through the App
Track visit times, read care notes, message your caregiver, and update the care plan — all from your phone or computer. You always know what is happening, even when you cannot be there.
🔓
Change Anytime, No Drama
If something changes — needs, schedule, or just the feeling that someone else might be a better fit — you can request a new caregiver at any time through the platform. No fees, no awkward conversations.
💬
Honest Reviews from Real Families
Every caregiver profile includes verified reviews from other Houston families who have used their care. You are making your decision based on real experiences, not just a résumé.

Built for Houston families: The Choose Your Caregiver platform is available at careworks.biz and serves families across Houston, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Katy, Pearland, and surrounding communities. All caregivers are local, vetted in-person, and familiar with the Houston area.

⏱️ How fast can care start? After your free assessment, most families are matched and meeting a caregiver within 2–4 business days. If the situation is urgent, let us know — we have helped families get care started in as little as 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I really choose my own caregiver?

Yes — completely. After your free assessment, you browse a personalized shortlist of matched caregivers, review their full profiles, and request a meet-and-greet with anyone who looks like a good fit. You make the final call every time. CareWorks never assigns a caregiver to your home without your approval.

What if we want to change caregivers later?

You can request a change at any time through the platform or by calling your care coordinator. There are no penalties, no cancellation fees, and no uncomfortable conversations on your end. We handle the transition smoothly and find you a new match as quickly as possible.

Are all caregivers background-checked?

Every single one. Before a caregiver profile appears on the platform, they go through a thorough criminal background check, reference verification, skills assessment, and in-person orientation with CareWorks staff. They are also insured and bonded. You see the finished result — a profile you can trust.

What if my loved one needs care urgently?

Call us and tell us it is urgent. We prioritize emergency matches and can often arrange a meet-and-greet and start care within 24 hours. We will be upfront with you about what is available on short notice so you can make an informed decision quickly.

Can I use the platform if my loved one has dementia?

Absolutely — and we especially recommend choosing your own caregiver in these situations. Consistency is one of the most important things you can give someone with dementia. Being able to select a caregiver with specific dementia experience, and have that same person show up reliably, can make an enormous difference in how your loved one adjusts to care.

Is there a contract or minimum commitment?

We offer flexible arrangements — from a few hours a week to full-time live-in care. We will talk through what makes sense for your situation during the free assessment. Our goal is to find a plan that actually fits your life, not lock you into something that does not.
